Past
Event Descriptions
This does not
include all of our past events, because I only started doing this
type of
calendar in July 2007. Suffice it to say, we have learned
a lot and come a long way from where we were. (Thank God.)

The
Power of Now
How
can I “be here now” when my mind is always going
"there then?"
Paul
Chubbuck was as frustrated as any busy-minded person
when listening to talk of “The Power of Now” or
“Be Here Now”. It seemed like those teachers
knew something he needed to know, but he just wasn’t
getting the experience. But frustration is a great
motivator to new learning. In the field of
body-centered psychotherapy, Paul discovered teachers
and ways that moved him deeply and continue to teach him
and his clients. Tonight he will offer practical
“rubber meets the road” kind of guidance you can use
daily to discover the magic and healing power of the
present moment when accessed through the gateway of your
body and sensations.
We’ll
also touch on such questions as:
What’s
the connection between my body and the very popular
“The Secret” movie?
What
if I’m a negative person and often feel scared, angry,
or self-critical?
What
is the latest in neurobiology and what does it have to
do with me?
Paul
Chubbuck is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with a
private practice in Fort Collins. He specializes
in helping people to release their sense of grief, loss,
anger, or fear arising out of past painful experience.
Paul may be contacted
at 970-493-2958 or for more information, visit www.releasingthepast.com.

Descansos
Tonight's
session will bring a unique opportunity to look at your life and
mark where small deaths and large deaths have taken place.
"Death" can represent roads not taken, paths that were cut
short, ambushes, betrayals and deaths. You'll be given ways to put
those deaths to rest so that they don't haunt you anymore. Come find
out what "descansos" are and how they can be used to
bring more joy into your life.
The New Hope nights allow you time
to share what is happening in your
physical, emotional, and spiritual journey to
wellness. We will interact, share, and listen to each
other. If that's something you don't often get to
experience, please come. It's safe and it's real.

Celebration
This
is the third circle in the progression to healing for
people who suffer the most emotionally. After
exploring the internal terrain and discovering what
needs to be translated into a new perspective, the
person is ready to begin the celebration of the gift of
life. Celebration is the partner of
gratitude. How does one become truly
grateful? What impact does celebration have on a
person and those he or she interacts with? If you
find it difficult to celebrate your life, this is a good
class to attend. See
all nine circles here.

Coping
Mechanisms
We
all have them. We all need them. Coping
mechanisms are behaviors we form in response to stress
stimulus. Maybe it's time to look at how you cope
and see if those mechanisms are working for you
anymore. Perhaps you would like to exchange the
ones you have for more effective ones. Come
explore the human psyche with us and emerge a better
person.

Women Who
Run with the Wolves Within every woman there is a wild
and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts,
passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. Here name is Wild
Woman, but she is an endangered species. Though the gifts of
wildish nature come to us at birth, society's attempt to
"civilize" us into rigid roles has plundered this treasure,
and muffled the deep, life-giving messages of our own souls.
Without Wild Woman, we become over domesticated, fearful uncreative,
trapped.
Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D., Jungian analyst and cantadora
storyteller, shows how woman's vitality can be restored through what she
calls "psychic archeological digs" into the ruins of the
female unconscious. Come tonight to hear Teresa present the
Introduction to the book. Man or woman - you'll be glad you came.

Fighting
Abnormal Cell Growth Using
the word "cancer" is taboo in natural health realms
because of the threat of liabilities. That word is just a
label for a series of diseases that involve the overgrowth of
cells in the body. The good news is that the condition for
most people who have it (and many have it without knowing) is
reversible. Come hear about amazing breakthroughs for
optimizing health from a medical nurse who chose to pursue natural
health in order to reverse a debilitating condition that she was
told was "incurable."

Translation
This
is the second of the three circles for helping those who
suffer emotionally. Translation involves learning
a new vocabulary and then building a bridge of
understanding between what was and what will be.
Often, translation requires a new perspective on the old
stories that shape our emotional construct. Without
translation, we can remain stuck in a repeating scenario
of suffering. See
all nine circles here.
